Hi,
My daughter is getting ready to move to a toddler bed. We have a convertible crib and need to get a guardrail for it. The problem that I am running into is that most of them are for Twin to Queen. The convertible cribs use the crib mattress for the toddler bed. I think there is about a 10" difference between the Crib mattress and the twin. Has anyone else been in this situation? Could you let me know which one you bought and what you thought of it? Thanks so much.

What can I do next?

We used the white mesh type rail that I think my husband purchased from either BRUs or Wal-Mart. The guard rail has a portion of it that is meant to go under the crib mattress so it stays in place. My husband had to kind of rig it to stay in place, but it worked great and there was just enough room for my daughter to get in and out of the converted crib all by herself. Hope this helps, good luck.

Your convertible crib should have either come with the side rail, or you may have to buy it. Just go to where the crib is from (ours was Babies R Us) and they can order you the right one. I think there might be a universal one at Babies R Us to order if you don't know where the crib is from.

As a side note, if the mattress is in its lowest position it is only 6" off the ground so if she rolls out it is no big deal. My son used to end up on the floor and wouldn't even wake up:-)

Good luck!

Hi K.! I had the same problem. I bought one that fits the twin bed even though it fit the length of the crib mattress. My kids thought it was fun to climb over the guardrail in the morning. It served its purpose and didn't wreck the bed. Good Luck!

I had a toddler bed which uses the crib mattress, too. I used a guardrail for a twin size bed and it fit just fine. The guardrails don't always go the full length of the bed. I would take some measurements and go from there. I think mine was a Graco but I could be wrong - it was a few years ago I used one for my youngest son. Good luck - S.

I am dealing with the same thing. I found one at Babies r us. There are two that have the same box, only different measurements. It is the only one I could find, and I have been looking!
