Hi

I have a 14 months old boy who has been receiving his shots like the majority of children. However I have never felt it was the right thing to do. I am still debating as to I should just stop now (having already started). I have done some research and reading and the more I read the more I think vaccination is really bad. Besides I am pregnant and I really want to make sure I will make the right decision for my new baby.
My questions/ requests are:
-Are there any mothers who has not vaccinated her children? If so, what are the challenges (with school, etc...)?
-Does anyone know if it is fine to stop vaccination in the middle of a course.
-Any feedback on this issu will be appreciated.

Thanks a lot

There is a small risk of adverse effects from vaccinations, but in areas where people don't vaccinate, those childhood diseases are coming back...and killing children.

I don't want my children to die of some disease we thought was eradicated based on junk science.

I am just out the door to go get a flu shot. My kids are getting theirs this afternoon.

Hi M.,

To many Moms whether to immunize their children or not can be a very difficult decision. I have a Naturopathic physician who did not recommend it and my sons Pediatrician (a regular MD) who did recommend it. I work in an Emergency Department and asked as many Physicians that I could what they thought and the general consensus was "the risks associated with immunizations are far less than the risk if you do not immunize." I have immunized my son but am delaying his MMR shot probably closer to 24 months. There is alot of information out the for both sides. Trust that you will do the best for your child, continue to do more research, maybe your son's Pediatrician can help you understand some of the studies out there. Hope this helps a little. E

My friend has a son who is autistic and has decide not to give either of kids vaccinations. She hates to hear about my kids Dr. appointments because I do vaccinate my kids, I am one that believe the risk is greater not to, if my child got something serious that could have been prevented with one shot I would feel terrible. As far as I know my friend has had no problem getting her kids into school with out the immunizations. I believe there is a special form needed from the DR. as to why, but that I am not 100% sure on.

Just to let ya know, in order for them to even get into any type of school, you have to show the vaccanation record. And if the child has not had the Varcella shot yet, if they do catch the chicken pox, you have to take extra care for them because it can be deadly.....
