Hello. What is everyone growing in their vegetable garden. This year we are growing...tomatoes, cucumbers, argula, lettuce, zucchini, watermelon. celery and corn.
I am also growing some herbs. I do my garden in the companion gardening style.

What can I do next?

I have pots on my deck with tomatoes, mint, basil, cilantro, pepper. Hubby planted some cucumber in my rose space that's doing ok.

Like Angela, we have been in drought over 5 years and in the last 2 weeks we are out of drought! I appreciate the rain and it filling the lakes but now we are fighting fungus in the yard due to the rains!!! Ugh!

Corn, green beans, red, green, and purple bell peppers, jalapenos, habanero peppers, blackberries, cantaloupes, sunflowers, and a ton of herbs.

We're floating away because of all of the rain, though, so I can't believe how well everything is growing. I wish we could share with California, although we've been in a drought for years. Our lakes still need the rain. My garden (and yard) needs it to dry out for a bit.

Tomatoes.. and I am picking them already! (Yay for early growing season in Texas.)

Onions.... I had a nice bed of them, and pushed the tops over (planted in February), but we've had rain for 10 of the 15 days in May.... just realized I needed to get them harvested, and it looks like at least half of them have rotted in the ground because of the rain.... grrr.... I had such a great crop last year!

Beets.... I have maybe 8-10 that need to be harvested.

Herb garden.... mostly perennials, some annuals - Oregano (two types), Thyme (two types), Sage, Rosemary, garlic chives, French tarragon. The annuals I plant are sweet basil and parsley. I love being able to go out to the herb garden year round and harvest some fresh herbs! I may add other items, depending on what I see and whim.

I may plant some other things, but the first growing season is drawing to a close.... not sure what I can still plant and get a decent harvest.

I've also planted other things from time to time, just depends.

my organic gardener just emailed me! my plants are ready and i'll pick them up on monday!
lots of lettuces. kale. tomatoes. cukes. summer squash. winter squash. peppers.
i'm going to cut back on what i put in the kitchen garden this year (which is almost half-covered in strawberries anyway) and container garden most of it. i hope it works. i'm a very enthusiastic but inept gardener. i really need to find the best method for me. containers mean lots and lots of watering, but my beautiful little kitchen garden, for all my tending and trying, has never done very well for me.
but every spring i'm excited to try again!

I love question!

Herbs: Rosemary, thyme, sage (two kinds), basil, mint, chives, fresh ginger, and garlic.

Greens: Arugula, green kale, rainbow kale, red lettuce, romaine lettuce, spinach, green lettuce, and butter leaf lettuce.

Vegetables: Potatoes, tomatoes (heirloom, and little cherry tomatoes), pumpkins, ground cherries, sweet onions, pears, apples, green beans and sugar snap peas.

With our weather here in the Seattle area, I'll get two crops of peas this print, and another in the fall, plus two crops of beans; small French green beans, and larger, more traditional green beans. The onions will be smaller versions of the sweet Walla Walla onions that grow in eastern Washiington in the summer. I'm really excited!

Big thing are peppers and tomatoes. Got zucchini, eggplant and cucumbers. Tons of herbs.

We have over 1,500 sq ft of garden space to fill. This year I am actually having trouble thinking of more things to grow so I may make a butterfly and a bee flower garden.

Oh yeah I added blackberries and raspberries so my younger son can forage. My kids like to graze in the backyard but there is never anything my son likes, now there is.

Oh and onions, I keep forgetting the new stuff I added this year.

Nothing..absolutely nothing and it breaks my heart...and my green thumb!!

But, I live in California and we are in a horrible drought. We have to cut back our water usage drastically so the precious resource is going towards drinking, showers and keeping our pool full. We are facing high price fines if we go over our allotted usage.

I have 3 big raised garden boxes full of primed and beautiful dirt that our 5 chickens take dirt baths in. They aren't complaining that I haven't kicked them out to grow my garden. Well..at least someone's happy we aren't planting this year. :)

I am thankful for my 3 tomato plants that sprouted up on their own from last year. There are 8 beautiful red cherry tomatoes growing on the vines right now. We will savor those sweet 8 cherries!!

Ours isn't too different from yours :)

We still have some spinach hanging in there from the last spring row... and a couple of kinds of lettuce.

Summer garden coming up now:
tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, red bell peppers, jalapenos, cyan peppers, arugula, cilantro, basil, watermelon, cantaloupe... I think that's it.

Pumpkin seeds are going in the ground this weekend or next :) And we'll be planting carrots, some fall squash and spinach again for fall.

We do the melons on a low hill in the back corner of our yard. Everything else is in raised beds.

Nothing as of yet. We had a frost warning just a few days back! *sigh*

My husband helps with the labor of setting up the veggie garden, which is in boxes. My 13 year old son chooses the plants, weeds, waters, harvests, etc. I stick to my flowers and the rhubarb. I think he's going to do yellow squash, bush beans, bell peppers, carrots and tomatoes. Maybe pumpkin.
