My husband and I are talking about starting a family. The only problem is, it is very important to me that I would be home with my kids. I want a job that I can do from home, because it would be a stretch to depend only on my husbands income. I would like to have something lined up before we seriously start trying to have kids. I work full time now, but it's not a job that would be easy to juggle after we did start a family. Any suggestions? I am editing this because one poster was very nice to point out I was being a little vague in what I was interested in. I do not want any kind of MLM. I tried that once, didn't work. I'm not looking for a get rich quick scheme. I have very strong customer service and computer skills. I would love to do something data entry related, but every time I look you have to pay to get information. I don't want to pay just to see if I am interested in something. I've tossed ideas around about babysitting or even cooking (I love to cook) or even budget wedding planning. My long term goal would be to homeschool my children. So I would want something I could do around that, something I could work on in the evenings, or late at night.
Being a work at home mom is HARD - you only have so much time and energy during the day. Probably the best thing to do is try to live only on your husband's income as much as possible. See what it is that you love to do, talk to your friends, ask others for help to figure out what might work for you. Good luck!

I listen to a radio show called the Kim Komando show and she has a place on her website where she has actually screened some companies for work at home opportunities. A friend of mine found some work through it, but in the end decided she would rather focus on being a mom.
You are opening the door here for all the sales, MLM's, recruiters to sell you on signing up and selling. Some people LOVE it, for many it is a trap.
What do you do now? Can you take your skills and free lance, telecommute? What are your talents? Can you incorporate any of those into something that brings in some income. Sell old stuff on Ebay or Craigslist...some moms on here do well with that.
Look within yourself to see what YOU want to do and then explore the opportunities. Gather ALL facts before you make decisions.

I completely agree with T.F. about opening the flood gates. I too once looked for something I could do to be home with my babies but never found something I felt was legitimate, I would like or could really make money doing, so I eventually stopped looking.
Then, when I stopped paying attention, God brought a blessing into my path a few years ago that has truly saved my family. I couldn't be more passionate about what I do and never thought I would either. Funny how life works that way...
Here's the catch; I ACTUALLY WORK... No hype, no gimmics, no overpriced luxury items, no MLM pyramid junk and get rich quick schemes, no selling products, billing or making deliveries, etc.
I work for a great company, built on solid principles, making honest money while helping other people.
If you tell me what you like to do or what you are good at, we can talk and see if this will be the right opportunity for you. You have to like what you do. Money isn't everything...
