Spill Proof Travel Mug

Mamas & Papas- We're ready to replace DS's playtex sippy cups with some kid friendly travel mugs. Any ideas or suggestions? Contigo has great reviews, but some say it gets moldy. looking for something that holds roughly 12 oz. spill proof. dishwasher safe. keeps cold beverages cold. the fewer parts the better. it should be lunchbox friendly (so not too big). it should be lunchroom friendly. That's why I am after spillproof rather than a stainless steel water bottle with a screwcap. Thanks a bunch. F. B.

My 2 Month Old Won't Take a Bottle Anymore

I had a little girl on the 30th of May and have been breastfeeding her since then. I am a school teacher so have had the summer off and have been breastfeeding on demand. My husband works nights so in order to give them some bonding time together he would give her a bottle (of formula)twice a day-once when he got home in the morning and again before he went to work at night. I would also give her a bottle whenever we were out in public instead of breastfeeding. Anyway, this past Monday I had to attend a workshop for the day. It was my...

Playtex Drop-Ins System

With my 2 1/2 year old, we tried nearly every bottle on the market before he settled on the Avent bottles. They were great, but I'm thinking with the next one (due in a couple weeks), I would like to use the Playtex Drop-Ins. But my question is this... To those of you who have used these, how do you warm the milk or formula? Microwaving is always a no-no, and with the other bottles we've used, we heated the contents with a bottle warmer. These say not to put the bottle into a heat source. Do I have to heat it in a separate container...

Best Way to Ween off Bottle?

What is the best way to ween a 16 month old off of a bottle. He uses sippy cups fine, but it seems like when I put the milk in them, he'll have some but won't finish it, whereas when I put it in the bottle he'll suck it right down.

What Were Things You Loved?

I was just wondering what things you loved to use with your kids. Like, what baby products you couldn't live without or what types of clothes you always bought, etc. I am just curious since there's such a broad market of baby items and I'm just trying to get some reviews. Thanks for any responses beforehand! For me, I really enjoyed using my Graco playpen thing. I never used the playpen part so much for my son. It mainly served as a toy bin, but I loved the diaper changing part of it. That was what I used to change diapers and it worked...

Infant with Reflux

I have a almost 5 month old baby boy with reflux. He was born 13 weeks early. The doctor has him on previcid and it has not seemed to work. We have him on the Similic Advance formula. He does ok the first half of his feed, then the rest of his feed he will fight eating. Sometimes after he burps it gets better. He spits up after almost every feed. He is gaining weight. I was wondering if anyone else has had these problems and what worked for you. I am thinking of calling the doctor and putting him on a different formula. He also will cry...

Adolescent Beginning Menustration

Hi, I have an 11 year old daughter that has started puberty. She has had pubic hair since 8 yrs old, underarm hair, "breast buds" appeared about 4 mos ago and I am anticipating her menustration at anytime. Many of her friends have already gotten theirs, so I know it won't be long. My question for those of you that have gone through this with your daughters, do you let them use tampons or just pads? I'm asking this because when I began my period at 12 yrs old, my mom bought me a belt that went around my waist that connected to a "HUGE...

Home Remedy for 8 Month Old with Acid Reflux

Our 8 month old has maxed out her options on medicine and formula and while she isn't awful, she still isn't sleeping at all well. She is on zantac two times a day and that keeps her from spitting up hardly at all. Between the acid reflux and the re-occuring ear infections, she is just not sleeping. We have tried all the usual things: elevating the bed, feeding her at an angle, keep her upright for 20 minutes afterwards. We have tried all different types of formula and gripe waters etc... we have also taken her to the chiropractor for 4...

9-Week Old Refusing to Accept a Bottle

My nine week old daughter has suddenly started to refuse accepting a bottle. We introduced a bottle, once daily, at 2-weeks of age, per the recommendation of our pediatrician. After six successful weeks, one week ago, she began to refuse it. She becomes hysterical as soon as the nipple is put in her mouth; she kicks, cries, and fights it, seeming to only want the breast. My husband and/or my mother spend 45-60 minutes working on this with her, soothing her as soon as she becomes upset, and then re-introducing the bottle when she is calm....

Info Re: Formula Feeding

Hello all, Some infromation please. I'm formula feding my child. How long can you keep a bottle that an infant began to drink from? I've heard different things, some say you can't go back, other things I've read say 2 hours. What is the common practice? Also has anyone used the playtex drop in liners that you're supposed to rip the tab off of? Someone bought them for me by mistake, they seem impossible to use. Is there an easy way to rip off the tab?
