Honey Safe for 16 Month Old? Raw and Local.

So I know I posted earlier. I hope I am not getting annoying haha. And I have had a nurse recommend honey, and many others. I have heard raw honey is where all the good benefits come from because her allergies are AWFUL. And her allergy medicine is already making her hyper-active on top of her constant sneezing/coughing as everything drains. The daycare provider said she did not take a nap at all today, just talked and yelled. She also woke up at 12 a.m last night doing the same thing mixed with coughing and sneezing and it is just awful...

What's in Your Travel First Aid Kit?

Hi Mamas! We are getting ready to go on a family trip before baby 2 arrives. We have a 20 month old son who is becoming more adventurous by the day. :) Thankfully he's only had a few bumps and bruises and scrapes that we've been able to care for at home. That being said, I'm packing over the next few days and I'd like to get a first aid kit together, for things like stings, bites, scrapes, cuts, burns, whatever we need to be prepared, I suppose. Do you have a first aid kit? What's are the essentials? Thanks everyone!

Claritin and Other Allergy Meds

My son often gets runny nose/cough symptoms and my pediatrician has recommended that I try putting him on Claritin to manage those symptoms. I am reluctant to put him on medicine for prolonged periods of time. Dose anyone have information about any potential harmful effects of long-term use of allergy medicines in toddlers? Also, any suggestions of natural remedies that have worked would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

How Long for Claritin to Take Effect?

Hi - We gave our son a 24 hour dose of Children's Claritin for allergies. We haven't seen any change. How long does it take to have effect? I know that Benadryl is fast acting. How long before I can give him a different allergy med if it doesn't help? I'll talk to his dr in the morning, but wanted to hear personal experiences. Thank you!

My 17 Month Old Can't Get Rid of Her Cold

My daughter is 17 months old and she just started daycare. We have been struggling with a cold for about two weeks now. She had gotten better for a few days than it came back again. We have tried everything that the doctor suggested. Elevating the head of her crib, kept a humidifier running, suctioned her nose and gave her childrens motrin every 6 hours. She has gotten a little better but she still can't seem to shake of her cough. Is there something else that I need to be doing?

18 Month Old Allergy Sufferer

My son is suffering with all of the wonderful symptoms of seasonal allergies. He has a runny nose, wattery eyes, sneezing, etc. I feel terrible for him when he awakes and has his eyes all gunked up with crustys stuck to his eyelashes. We've been giving him zyrtek for children as recommeded by our doctor. However, I am wondering if there is anything else I can do to try to relieve the symptoms. Any suggestions?
