Paying for Wedding Expenses

My 36 year old son is marrying for the 3rd time. He is a single father and for the past 3 years he and his 2 children have lived with my husband and me. One of his children is a special needs child and we have had a huge responsibility taking care of her so he could work. My husband and I pay a lot of their living expenses every month and keep the children so he can work. He is engaged to a 27 year old and this is her first wedding. Because they are adults and have been engaged for 3 years and we have paid for 2 of his weddings already, we...

Advice on Texting

Hello All!!! Thank you for taking the time to read this. My boyfriend has a 15 year old son who is only with us every other weekend. We currently provide his phone for him. In the last month he has racked up 9,000+ texts. Most of them occuring after midnight. He does have an odd sleep schedule, which I'm guessing is normal for summer time. I have a problem with the fact that he has that many texts. Not to mention, after we talked to him about this, he sent & received 1,000 texts in a week. Is this normal for a teenager? ...

18 Year Old Daughter

Hi, My 18 year old daughter is sleeping overnight with a boyfriend. I have told her that this is not acceptable to me and that it is definetly not ladylike. She told me she would not do it again. Then she turns around and says shes going for a little whild and I call at 4:45 am and she answers the phone(which she did not do before) sleepy like and tells me she is on her way. I tell her what is the point at this time of the morning and that she should have taken her clothes with her. I told her she could not be a tramp around me and...

However he doesn't have good money sence so have to put some limits here. ANY advise would be greatly appreciated on how other parents come up with what to give a child in college and...

Gift-giving to Older Nephews and Niece

Hi, moms. Wondering if any of you have some suggestions on how to handle this. I have two siblings. My sister has twin 7-yr-old stepsons. My brother has two sons, 18 and 21, and one daughter, 15. About five years ago, we stopped exchanging gifts among the adults and agreed to give gifts only to each other's kids. I'm not very close with my brother or his family -- we've always lived at a distance (13 hours away) and I see them once or twice a year. Same with my sister. My dilemma is this, at what age is it appropriate to stop giving...

College Tuition: Whose Responsibility Is It?

I have thoughts on pros and cons of both sides to this, but I'm very curious as to what your thoughts are. * Provided college is the right choice for your child, the time is right and they truly would make the most of the experience*.... 1. Who should pay the tuition? Student or parents? 2. If you think the parents should, do you think there should be conditions attached? 3. What is your reasoning behind your answer? This isn't an all or nothing issue for sure, so I'm looking forward to a variety of responses to consider...
