Baby Criying Himself to Sleep

My son is 6 months he was a very fussy baby since birth, he cried a lot specially night time and for hours. People told me that I spoiled him because the only way he would fall asleep was by being rocked.. so we decided to get him a swing because we thought it would help a lot which it did, at times he would sleep there at night because that's the only place he would last sleeping.. he's big now and will be growing out of the swing soon he also cries himself to sleep all the time and takes very little naps during the day. My question is any...

What Is the Best Monitor?

I have a 3 month old son who usually sleeps in a bassinet beside my bed. He has his own room and crib but has only slept in there once. Last night I got out the monitor which has night vision (we bought the most expensive one) put him in his bed and he went to sleep. Everything was perfect except that the monitor crackled and popped all night. So at 3am I went and got him just so I could turn off the monitor and get some sleep. Does anybody have a monitor that they just love and doesnt make so much noise?

Seeking Advice from Other Co-sleeping Moms

I have an 11 month old son whom I've been co-sleeping with since he was born, minus a couple months in a bedside co-sleeper. As long as he's getting a tooth in, he sleeps really well in bed with us and my husband and I don't mind it at all. He's still nursing and on most nights he'll nurse once, usually sometime between 1 and 4 in the morning. I really don't mind that either. I've received advice from friends and family to get him in his own bed soon - they say the sooner the better. I don't feel that he's quite ready to be moved yet. ...

Infant Sleeping in Parents' Bed

Quick question for moms out there who slept with their newborn/infant. What worked for you in terms of keeping baby safe while sleeping in your bed? Did you use an infant positioner? Did baby just lay next to you on top of your covers? I'm hoping for some advice on this. Also, how did you keep your baby warm/cool enough when sleeping with you? Thanks!

Stopping Thumb Sucking

My 8 month old started sucking her thumb at 5 months. My husband and I have tried to discourage her by taking it out of her mouth every time we see her with it in her mouth, tried putting band aids on her thumbs but she doesn't mind them, tried using Thum but again she doesn't mind it. We just noticed a change in the shape of her mouth, which we thought wouldn't happen for quite some time. We are not comfortable with 'just letting her suck her thumb' and figure it should be easier to stop the habit before it goes on too long. Has anyone...

Daughter Has Changed Her Sleep Schedule!

Hi everyone: my daughter used to have a pretty set schedule when it came to sleep. She would go down about 8:30pm, wake up at 9:30am (yes, I have been told I am lucky), go down for a nap about 11 and sleep til about 1:30 or 2pm. Then another nap about 3 for a couple hours. That's about it. She was awake a lot. Then she got sick, with croupy cough, and changed her schedule! She now gets REALLY grumpy about 7:30pm, wakes up about 7:45am, occasionally waking up around midnight or wanting to go to sleep about 5pm, then goes down for a nap...

Infant Refuses Bottle - HELP!

I breastfeed exclusively. Since I will be returning to work soon, we have started offering our daughter a bottle once a day to get her used to it. (No formula--I pump). Per the advice of a lactation consultant, we started when she turned 3 weeks old. The first day she was confused , but the 2nd day was better. By the 3rd day, she took the bottle fine. This lasted one week. The day she turned 4 weeks old, she started refusing the bottle. She just sits there with the bottle in her mouth. She acts like she has no idea what it is and...

Baby Won't Sleep

Has anyone ever had the experience of an eight week old baby not sleeping for 12 hours straight? Our little one will not go to sleep and wants us to carry him around (walking)constantly and gets upset if we stop for any extended period of time. He's like the energizer bunny. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.

Sleep Problems at 4.5 Months?!?!

Hi! I'm L.. I have a 4.5 month old baby boy who doesn't like to sleep. I've been told by our pedi he is a night crier. He doesn't like to take naps during the day, and if he does lay down it's for maybe 30 min. at most. Bedtime usually comes between 9:00 and 11:00 p.m., and he normally wakes again during the night between 4-6 a.m. From month 1 to month 2, he was an incredible sleeper sleeping 9 + hours straight through. Now, I'm lucky to get that at all. Is it normal for 4.5 month old babies to have such an unhealthy sleep pattern? ...

Husband Can't Soothe 6 Week Old - Mom Has No Break - Any Ideas?

Hi Ladies, I am writing to find out your experiences so that I can share them with my Husband. I stay at home with our new six week old daughter whom I adore beyond belief. I am at her beckon cry because that is what you are supposed to do when they are this little :) I breastfeed but pump a bottle every couple days so that my husband can feed her once in a while. She is still waking up at night on average every 2.5 to 3 hours, sometime a little longer or shorter, we got our first 4ish hours stretch a couple of nights ago - yeah! ...
