Is She Teething?

Good morning, I think my five month old might be teething. She is showing all the typical signs, except a swollen gum yet. She is more fussy and even pulling on her ear. I have given tylenol. It seems to help. Does anyone have any good tips or ideas for teething process? What should i expect? Thanks- reb

15 Month Old Does Not 2 of Her Front Bottom Teeth

My daughter has not gotten 2 of her bottom teeth. I talked to my dentest and they said that there really was not much they could do because of her age but that I had a good reason to worry. I am just wondering if a Ped Dentist would be able to find something out about the teeth or if I should just wait until she is older to take her to a dentist. Also we only have 1 Ped Dentist in our area and I have not heard anything about him. Any advice would be great, is it worth it to take a child to a ped dentist when they are so young if you have a...

Drooling...again...and He Is 5!

My son was a drooly baby. He was THAT kid. The one that always wore a bib, because otherwise his shirt was wet or he'd get a rash on his chest. We didn't think too much about it until he was 2. Around that time I did some research online and asked about it on here and was given a few ideas - ditch the sippy cups for cups with straws, blow bubbles, play games blowing cotton balls with straws..this sort of thing. We went this route after talking to his doctor, who wasn't entirely convinced it would help, but also knew it wouldn't hurt....

Ideas for First Lost Tooth!

My oldest daughter lost her first tooth tonight. A very BIG moment for her (& ME)! I really did not expect this for another week or so, but she has been wiggly it nonstop for a week now. Needless-to-say, since I was not prepared, I got her to hold off on putting it under her pillow until tomorrow night. I had to make up a really good story about the tooth fairy in order to delay it for a day. Anyways, I would like some ideas about what "tooth fairies" are leaving for children these days. Also, I have told her that losing her first tooth is...

Space Between Front Teeth

My son is 11 months old and he has a space between his front teeth. He does not have a space between his bottom teeth. His front teeth came in about 3 or 4 months ago and I was hoping as they came in that they would grow closer together! Should I be concerned? Will they move closer together? He already has the two teeth on either side of the front teeth, in fact, those came in before the front teeth did.

Gums Have Been Swollen in My 10 Month Old for over a Month, Probably 2

My little guy just turned 10 mos yesterday, he has 8 teeth already and has been getting teeth consistantly since he was 4 1/2 mos old. About 2 months ago I noticed his cuspid area on the bottom was swollen a little and red. I assumed the cuspids were coming. But they never came. I then learned that the 1st molars come in before cuspids, typically. The swelling then moved to the molar area. And the way it swelled was werid. The gums swelled on the outside (cheek and tongue side, not the top) so it looks like there is a gumball under...

13 Month Old Teething?

My 13 month old has had diarrhea and loose stool for about a week now. She also started getting a runny nose and drooling. She has been EXTREMELY irritable and today I caught her bitting really hard one the bottom of her shoes. Now I know that this sounds like your classic case of teething but she has it twice as bad as usual. Everyone keeps asking me if she is getting her molars which I have no idea. She only has 7 teeth, 4 on top and 3 on the bottom. I guess I thought that she would get the rest of her teeth before she would get any...

Teether Biting the Nipple~!

So my almost 7 month old son has taken to biting my nipples at random during his feedings. His first two teeth came in simultaneously two and 1/2 weeks ago. Each time he's done so i've let out a good "Yelp!" and then taken him off the breast and tell him no, and why it's not okay. Unfortunately it seems to be happening even more frequently as time has gone on since he first started. I've even caught him grinning afterward. I don't know if this has become the automatic mommy yelping trick that he's getting a kick out of, but i do know i...
