K.,
I live in Big Lake and I used to take my girls to Dr. Welch at the Monticello Clinic. I loved her (some of my neighbors didn't like her) She is leaving the clinic so I asked her for a referral. She suggested either Dr. Kuper at the Monticello clinic or the new pediatrician that will start at the Big Lake Clinic in March (she highly suggested her). My girls have seen Dr. Kuper before, I really liked her. She thinks outside of the box and really listens to your concerns. I never felt rushed. Good luck and remember you may have to try two or three clinics/pedi before you are comfortable.

Hi! I'm in the Zimmerman area and I take my kids (5 yrs, 3.5 yrs, 8 months) to Fairview Elk River. They have 3 peds doctors. They are all female doctors. Our primary is Dr. Patti Kubicka and I have been very happy with her. Dr. Larson and Dr. Amy are also there and have been really great too. The scheduling has proven to be great and easy to get appointments when I've wanted them, even when the kids have been sick they have been able to get them in that same day. The peds doctors are in with all the other doctors so the waiting room and everything is a conglomeration of everyone. I do wish they were more set up just for kids. My last doctors office had a separate waiting room for well kids and sick kids. They had 6 full time staff members and all they saw in their offices were kids. It was a huge metro area of lots of people so they had enough patients that they could do that.
Overall I would recommend them. Oh! I have been pleased with the nursing staff as well there.
Good luck on finding a doctor and also with your pregnancy!

We live in Becker, and I take my boys to St CLoud CentraCare pediatrics. I REALLY like thier setup and its a larger practice, but you have your own pediatrician and you aren't passed around.

The Monticello clinic has a couple good peds on staff as well, but I'm sorry I don't know names.

I do recommend St Cloud CentraCare though.

We met Dr. S. Raja-Heal in the hospital when she was doing rounds checking babies. When she left the room my husband said "I want her to be our Ped". She's been our Ped ever since and my oldest is almost 6. She practices out of the Allina in Elk River right by the Gov Center. She is patient, sweet and listens. If she doesn't know something she'll tell me and she always encourages parent input. I LOVE her!
There are also some great family practice and nurse pract. there too. I haven't met anyone there that I didn't like.
Best Wishes,
J.
