How Do I Find a Playmate for My 14 Month Old Son???

We have not lived in Dallas/Lewisville too long, and I've tried the usual avenues, like hanging out at the park and kid's play places, but I just don't seem to be having much luck meeting other mom's with children the same age. I've found a mothers day out program at a church, but he can't start until he's 18 months old, so I don't know what else to do. HELP!! (I think my son is getting sick of hanging out with just me (lol). Any suggestions would be great.

What can I do next?

I go to MOPS at Crossroads Bible Church on 407 in Double Oak. It is a wonderful program & the next meeting is April 23 and they go from 9-11:30 and include brunch. To let them know you are coming to visit (and to reserve childcare), email Ann Kraft at ____@____.com to register. Here is the link to the mops program http://www.crossroadsbible.org/ministries/Women/women_mop...

It costs $20/year & there is a childcare donation basket that is passed each meeting but you are in no way required to pay for that. Also, the $20 can be waived if you request a scholarship.

My 3 year old loves going! He has a great time-it's like being in Sunday school or MDO for them-they have a lesson, playtime, snacks & special events periodically. My 10 month old sometimes stays with me or they'll page me if they need me to nurse her or if she is crying. You are always welcome to keep you kids with you but they have a wonderful childcare setup. And the best part is you get some adult time!

You can also check out http://www.mops.org/ for a more convenient location. It's just down 407 from the Super Target & shops at Highlannv Village at Chin Chapel and 407.

Feel free to contact me if you have questions. I'd love to meet you-I've met my best friends at MOPs-I'm in my 3rd year

You are more than welcome to join us in Carrollton. We usually meet in north Carrollton, so are pretty close to some parts of Lewisville and Dallas. We are very informal, no dues, no membership meetings, nothing required at all. We're all about the playdates and occasional Moms Night Out. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CarrolltonMoms/

We are members of Gymboree play and music.

I also joined a Mothers Group that I found on www.MeetUp.com

I take our daughter for walks around the neighborhood and if I see someone with a child close to my daughters age I say hi and introduce ourselfs...turns out the people who live right behind us has a daughter two months older.

I have also met moms on MySpace just searching for moms with kids close to her age in our town.

I attend www.metroplexbaby.com events as well. You get to meet other moms there.
