I am search of work that I can do from home so that I can stay home with my 13 month old son. My husband has been pressuring me to return to work and I have been looking for a job, however I am not real thrilled about putting my son into child care. I was wondering if anyone had any advise about working from home. It seems that most of the things I have come across are scams or have a start up cost. My husband is very skeptical about working from home and will not allow me to do anything that is going to cost money to start. If there is something out there that I know is for really and doesn't cost too much maybe he will allow me to do it. Any advis would be greatlly appreciated. Thank you!!!

What can I do next?

I am a distributor for a health & wellness company. I've been with the company 2 years and we are doing quite well with it. There is a small start up cost. My dh and I have owned a "traditonal" business that was all ours (ie. not a franchise, MLM, etc.), and I can tell you we sunk WAY more money into that than we have with the start-up cost and other small expenses of our network marketing business. Having been in both worlds (self-employed on our own and in network marketing) the benefits of a good network marketing company are totally worth the minimal startup cost involved. If you want to check out my website, go to www.LifeInTheHealthLane.com. If you fill out a form it goes directly to my dh, mention I referred you so he can forward it to my personal email. I'd be happy to answer any questions, and I won't pressure you or hound you, I'll just answer your questions.

Best wishes in finding something that will work for you!

Hi S.,

I was also looking for work to do from home so I wouldn't have to return to work after having my daughter either. She is now 10 months old. I was looking for a legit, stable and honest company and I found it. I am proud of who I work with and what we do. No selling, stocking or delivering products. Have a team help train and guide you to success. Let me share with you how we can change your life too!! Visit: www.stayinhomeandlovinit.com/ygailliard

Hi S.,

Do you have specific skills, training or experience in any particular area? Or do you have specific interests that you would like to find work that is related to? How many hours are you willing (or need) to work and do you have a minimum requirement for how much you need to make per week/month/etc.?

I would agree with your husband and stay away from "opportunities" that require you to buy something to start, but on the other hand, starting your OWN at-home business requires a certain amount of startup cost. I know lots of moms who have started their own businesses from home, some do sewing, others run online stores, web design, etc. so that's why I asked those questions above, to help brainstorm and find a legitimate business you can do from home. I do web design myself and work with mostly other work-at-home-moms to get their stores started and I might be able to offer some advice or at least some info.

Hi S., I'm new to mamasource and I just read your post about not wanting to return to work. I understand how you feel and was wondering if you have found a home-based business that suits your needs and desires. I am the mother of two children, my son is now 20 years old and on his own and my daughter has special needs and is 11 going on 16! I recently started my own home based business selling Mia Bella Gourmet Scented Candles. I love burning scented candles in my home and these by far are the best smelling and cleaner burning! This company offers an excellent compensation plan and you can focus your business or retail, fundraising or team building. The start up cost is very low and with it you will receive your own website. If you are still searching for a home business I'd like to invite you to visit my website and take a look at the products. I've included other links below for you to look at at your own convenience.

If you have any questions and want to speak with me, my numbers are listed below. I look foward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,

M. C.
