So What Happened?

I don't buy the hype one bit, but they were at my Costco for a song and I thought they might be comfortable. I have collapsing arches and have to wear a custom orthothic, I now need to were tennis shoes all day. Thought they'd be worth a try.

I love mine. I have a bad knee (torn ACL 3 times) and bad back. I'm on my feet 9 hrs a day and these shoes are comfy and help me get through a lot of walking at work. I have heard that they aren't good for you, but for me personally I'm happy with them.

I have read mixed reviews, including they can cause damage to your foot if worn for long periods of time, especially bad reviews from medical professionals. I would take that into serious consideration.

I love mine. I actually didn't buy them for the exercise benefit. I have plantar fascisitis and very high arches in my feet, so these shoes have provided much comfort. You do have to be careful on uneven surfaces, such as grassy areas. I was in the yard with my son one time and almost twisted my ankle on an uneven patch of ground.

My chiropractor strongly advises against these shoes. There are class-action lawsuits against Sketchers, claiming hip fractures, back problems. My chiro is a pretty solid guy, so be sure to do your research. There's a lot of concerning information out there. You can google "Shape ups law suit" or "shape ups back pain" or "shape up shoes chiropractor"....

I wear mine exclusively, even to church.

Strange about heel spurs-- from Christy.. I used to have heel spurs before I bought mine. I saw them on X-Ray. I wear mine so that I don't have foot pain. That's why I wear mine always.

I hate mine and will never purchase them again. I love my normal sketchers, but not the shape ups. I am on my feet up to 9 hours a day and some of my co-workers love them, but they only make my heels hurt. I am pretty sure I even have heel spurs (sp?) from them. :( Save your $100 or so bucks and get a nice pair of running shoes.

I would take them back, honestly. What kind of deal is it, if you don't need them?

Shoes like this have been linked to shin splints, broken ankles, and honestly, HIP replacement in young women. Not worth it...you can find nice, regular shoes on sale.

they are comfy-but so easy to roll your ankle-they're just not wide enough on the sole

Shape ups, in my opinion, are just marketing stuff, another way to sell fancy shoes. I have them, I just wear them sometimes just to go out, but I have read that they are not actually good for anything.

They are meant just for walking and not to be worn all day. As others have mentioned, they can cause all kinds of problems.
My friend fell because of them and hurt herself very badly.

I have three pairs of Reebok Easy Tones and LOVE them. My foot issue is gone and I have even have a pair of the Easy Tone pants (worth EVERY PENNY!)

I didn't buy them for the hype, I bought them because they were comfortable and look pretty damn cute. :)

The Sketchers just look like Frankenstein shoes to me. You'd have to pay me to wear those!

Don't know about the shape ups because I think they're ugly but reebok makes their toning shoes in different styles..one for everyday (easy tones), one for running (run tones), etc. I have the run tones and love them!
