Hi there. Prenatal vitamins with calcium are the best for someone of that age - if you can't find one with calcium then give her one of the calcium chews (the chocolate or butterscotch flavored ones) with Vit D in it.
I say prenatal not because we want her to start thinking about kids but because she will get the iron and folate she needs to avoid anemia and prepare her body for adulthood. Vit D we are discovering has implications for prevention of cancers and chronic pain issues and many folks, women in particular, are depleted in this wonder vitamin. Calcium because she is building bone still and the calcium she has now will forestall osteoporosis and other bone issues later.
Hang in there with her. The human body is amazingly resilient and she will be fine!

There's nothing wrong with Flinstones chewables at any age. At Costco they also have kids vitamins that are gummy bears. I like those myself.

Hi, D., Vitamins are not created equal. Here is some great info on the latest science behind vitamins: www.snipr.com/oligo. Things to look for and things to avoid: synthetic vitamins are worthless. Look for natural, cold-pressed vitamins, but again, many of these forms have little protection against free radical production. (Free radicals can be produced as vitamins are digested, leaving little benefit by the time they reach your small intestines!) Different vitamin brands have different absorption rates, as well. We use One-A-Day Vitamins for Teenage Girls. They work very well for my 16 year old. We have also used Nature's Plus Ultra Source of Life liquid vitamins (can be purchased from any vitamin store). This particular vitamin gave her lots of energy. I hope this helps.

Whole food is the way to go, but since your teenage daughter is not much of an eater in that department, may I suggest Juice Plus+? Juice Plus is vegetable and fruit served in a capsule. They are available as gummies or chewables for children. I tried them for adults and noticed a difference. (My challenge is in remembering to take them!) Now awaiting my shipment of gummies for my children. I use Doctor's Choice for Female Teens for my daughter, who is 17 next month. We've used it for a few years and like it a lot. It calls for 4 tablets daily, but we only use 2 as my daughter does eat fruit and vegetables. It is made by Enzymatic. I purchase it at my local health food store. I give my 15 year old Corplex and a meal replacement shake every morning on her way out the door.
