Hurry to buy this month's "Entrepreneur" magazine. It has the best franchises listed. (However, I think they are all restaurants; but the more you know, the better, right?!)

Also, go to www.entrepreneur.com where you can find TONS of informations.

There has been a company that has been around for a while called, "Mellaluca"? Check into the spelling. I probably don't have it correct. I do know that they are "green", and women who join it has been quite successful. I THINK it might be one of those where you have a downline though.

Never forget the power of your mind to create your own business. It is YOU that can create the best opportunity for you - not following somebody else's outline.

In you saying that you are interested in children's enrighment programs or a green company, consider something like starting a line of books geared toward children on how to live a green life and how fun it is. You could take this WAY beyond this and turn it into an enterprise. Something like:

1. Write books for kids from newborn to 6.
2. Have a website that offers not only the books, but diaper bags, diapers (diapers could be offered as an affiliate), videos, clothing (for moms and kids), even a membership to your site where you could offer monthly deals from eco/kid friendly companies through your site only!
3. Teach classes @ local rec centers, and allow that to grow into what it may...
4. Talk at local mom groups (you know, where you and your little kid go to get some "adult" time...)

Those are just off the top of my head. If you have any questions - email me!

Good luck!! :)

I have had a business idea since 1990. It is not a franchise. It is an original idea. It is something that meets a need in my community of Keller. The target market would be moms with strollers, toddlers, home-school groups, school groups, church groups, teens, seniors. I have no business experience, no business plan, no capital. We'd need land, 1+ acres, and we'd have to design & build a large building.

We are I'm our 7th year with our Adventure Day Camps on Lake Grapevine - www.AdventureDayCamps.com - and are looking for partners/business owners to help us branch out into other locations across the metroplex. We are looking for business-minded individuals who have a passion for enriching the lives of kids...and enjoy the outdoors. I just attended a franchise seminar 2 weeks ago and am looking at options. If interested, send me an email...I would love to talk to you about the opportunity we have to see if it would be a good fit.

True "franchises" are very expensive. Also I have to laugh at you saying you want to get out of the corp world, be a business owner and work PART TIME! I own an insurance agency and although I am my own boss, I do not work part time. If you work part time hours, you make part time money. And starting a new biz from scratch in this ecomony may not be the smartest move. Just my opinion. If you want to check out an MLM that has FREE start up and great pay, check out http://www.YummyLiquidVitamins.com Good luck!

You need to speak with a lawyer who specializes in this sort of thing so you know exactly what you are getting into and what to expect.

From experience, any time you are the business owner you have to be there. I left to go to a doctors appointment and an employee made a decision that would up costing me a few thousand dollars. If you are thinking you can hire people to run it for you think again. It is a full time job even if it is a part time business.
