Little Leah loves to change her clothes so much that she tries to mess in them at least twice a day! Does anyone have suggestions for diapers that wont leak out the top or sides for this skinny little lady?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I've tried them all, except for cloth--no offense but I just cant go there--I have not tried the costco brand yet either. Pampers Swaddlers leak out the top while she is sleeping (yeah I know she shouldnt be sleeping on her tummy). Today she leaked the target brand all over her back while in her carseat (In Target!) and Huggies leaks out the leg holes...I guess I'll just use all of these up and wait to try the kirkland brand! Thanks for everyones suggestions!

I had the same problem with my little guy, and I found my answer in White Cloud Diapers. Have you tried them yet ?

How much does your little bird weigh? My son was preemie and very thin also (barely 5 lbs at birth) and Pampers leaked like CRAZY for him. I know little boys are verrry different from little girls, but my little man has had very good luck with Huggies Supreme diapers. They are super soft and cushy, very stretchy and stay in place well. They are a bit pricey, so I signed up for the Huggies online program and get lots of coupons. As babies get a bit bigger, it usually gets a bit easier to find good snug fitting diapers. It's a challenge when they're so tiny! If Huggies don't work for you, check with friends or family to see if you can "sample" a few of their brand to try them out. Many brands also offer free samples from their web sites but it may take several weeks to arrive. Best of luck to you!

Our youngest dauther was a preemie, she weighed in at 3 1/2lbs. We used pampers swaddlers for her. They seem to be snug between the legs. You will just need to test different brands out to find what works for your girl. Good luck. If all else fails.....there is always plastic pants to help hold it all in! LOL!

I have always used Pampers-from Swaddlers as infants to Cruisers as they get bigger and never had problems. It seems that Pampers are great for girl bodies while I hear that Huggies are better for boys.

Hi K.!

I LOVE Pampers baby dry, and swaddlers! They both work great on messy diapers. I have tried every brand in the book, even Wal-MArt and Target store brand and nothing seems to top Pampers. Oh, and my second choice would be Cosco brand (Kirkland) diapers. Those are extra stretchy and hold really well, its also a better value if you want to buy in bulk! God knows we need to buy in BULK! :o) Hope this helps. Take care.

My daughter is tall and skinny also. 75% height 25% weight. Pampers Swadlers are great! My daughter hardly ever leaked but a couple of times. However, once they hit 18lbs. you have to move up to cruisers or baby dry. We have tried huggies, pampers cruisers and pampers baby dry. Still no luck in any of them being as perfect as the swadlers but the babdy dry have been the best. The cruisers fit funny on the legs and leaked, the huggies are too flexible for someone so skinny and the baby dry has been best but not great they still leak at night sometimes. Good Luck!

Hi, cloth diapers are great for leaks. I don't know where you live but there may be a diaper service. We found a service to be less expensive then buying disposables also. My baby was 5 lbs at birth (she's now 19 months, 31 inches and 20 lbs) so I know what you mean. We use diaper doublers also. Depending on where you live you can pick them up at the grocery store. You may need to look into cloth and doublers on line though. This sounds really strange but when we've travelled to places that don't carry the doublers we've used maxi pads and depends pads etc. Just until she fit into a diaper that fit. Best of luck!

Huggies worked best for me. Both of my children were allergic to the perfume Pampers used. From the mother of two very skinny children.

My daughter is 95% for height and 25% for weight, so we have had issues with things not fitting... also leakage problems from time to time. (The leakage problems DO get better...probably around the 4-5 month mark for messes. I seem to remember changing a "blow out" in the back of my SUV around 4 mos!) If you find that leaks are happening out the top, I would suggest going up a size in diapers. (If that doesn't solve the problem, at least you'll have some of the next larger size on hand!) As someone in my Mom's group said, "Diapers work, maybe you're using the wrong size?" Changing sizes worked for me... even when the weight chart on the box indicates otherwise.
GOOD LUCK!

Pampers swaddlers they go up to size 2 or 3 I believe. Also I have found with my son if you buy a little smaller they will fit better (don't ever go by the weight on the package ( my son is about to turn 17 months and can still fit in a 3) only by how well they fit her. Good luck.

If you'd consider going to cloth diapers I can recommend GREAT covers for skinny ladies...my 7 month old is dealing with the same things...she's 30 inches tall and weighs 19 lbs...all the 3-6 month stuff is too short, the 6-9 is too long and she winds up with her pj's all in a bunch from crawling. If you'd like to know more about cloth diapers, just ask...I have been using them all my life! (I'm the oldest of 6 kids and my mother used them)
