Baby Eczema Keeps Coming Back with a Vengence. Help!

My baby has pretty severe eczema on her face! the doc told me to use Hydrocortizone for flare ups and keep her skin hydrated all the time. That is what we've been doing, however the day after I stop use of the hydrocortizone she flares up again.. and it's bad! I am going to adjust the soap - or rather stop all together and see what happens. I am already using "free" detergents and such. But I'm wondering if any of you have advice on what to do b/c I don't want to keep using hydrocortizone on the face - even the doc said extended use can...

What Products to Use for an Infant Who Has a Rash

Hi I was wondering what products many of you recommend for an infant (2 month old) who has a very bad sandpaper like rash all over her body. Her back is actually peeling today since her skin has been so dry. I did take her to her Pediatrician who ruled out any illness. He stated it may be sensitive skin or she may be having a reaction to a food that I am eating as she also has very bad reflux along with it. I use dreft detergent on all clothes/linens that come into contact with her. I use Eucerin on her skin which does seem to help a...

8 Month Old Sleeping and Eating Habits

I have an 8 1/2 month old little boy.....over the past few weeks he has been more difficult when eating; he throws his hands around and, often, whacks the spoon with the food and occassionally spits when I try to give him his next bite. i have tried slef feeding, but he's not diggin it; all foods that he is fed are foods that we have already tried and he likes. Is this just a phase, am I feeding him too much (he is a great eater)? Same little boy...had pretty bad exzema (sp?), used Aveeno and humidifier to clear it up, but wasn't...

Possible Milk Allergy?

I have a 3 month old son who developed a rash on his face and neck when he was about 2 weeks old. I have taken him to 2 doctors and they both have said that it's just a newborns sensitive skin, one doctor even suggested to apply cortizone cream every other day. He in now 3 months and still no sign of the rash letting up. I am breastfeeding and have been reading and hearing that some babies can be allergic to the protein in a mother's milk and also formula. In my research, some of the symptoms are rash, uncomsolable crying, mucus in the...

Milk Allergy & Eczema

I have a 2 year old that suffers with eczema. We recently found out that a lot of it has to do with her drinking milk. When we stopped giving her milk her skin cleared up. I recently purchased Lataid Milk for people who are lactose intolerant and she was doing fine with it. She had been drinking it for a couple of days. Last night after she had some she broke out again. I now believe she has a milk allergy. I wanted to find out if anyone else has had a similar issue or knows of another remedy. We know that she is allergic to eggs...

Severe Diaper Rash

Hi everyone. I have a problem. My son, who is 2 1/2 came home with this god aweful diaper rash with blisters from daycare. All weekend we tried everything, neosporin, triple paste, A&D and nothing helped because he is holding his bowel movements and screaming in pain because a little will come out at a time from him trying to hold it. I took him to an after hours clinic last night and they gave me burn cream for it. But the problem is, it is not having a chance to heal because he won't "poop" He just squeezes his cheeks together and...

Temporary Weaning to Formula

My exclusively breastfed 6 month old son has had severe eczema for over 3 months now, and we don't know which way to turn. We have seen medical doctors, tried alternative methods, used every ointment, lotion and even steroid cream, but have not been able to get this under control. Over the last 10 weeks I have eliminated the 10 major allergens from my diet, as well as tried a major elimination where I only ate turkey, brown rice, sweet potato, and squash. I have done these for 3 weeks at a time, as it takes that long to clear the system...

Acne Breakouts During Pregnancy

This is my third pregnancy, and once again, as before, I'm experiencing terrible acne over my face. I plan on talking to my OB about it, but am wondering what others have done to combat this safely during pregnancy, what a dermatologist suggested perhaps, etc. I have dealt with mild acne my whole life, and am very familiar with products, skin type, yada yada yada. I feel like I've tried everything (Even Proactive, which is too drying for me).It just really kicks up a notch due to hormones now. I do not have the money to spend on expensive...
